The Duxbury Newcomers' Club offers a variety of fun events and activities for children and families. This is a listing of new and ongoing offerings.

S’mores Beach Party
Fun for the whole family, this is one of the last beach events of the season! Typically held on a Sunday afternoon in September, we’re out on the beach in sweatshirts and the kids have their shovels and pails in tow. This is a very relaxed time to come down to the beach and enjoy the last glow of summer. For families that have moved here in July and August, come join us to get a taste of what the Duxbury Beach experience is all about!

Halloween Party
Hosted at the Duxbury Senior Center, our Family Social committee brings the club together for an afternoon of Halloween-themed crafts, games, treats and fun. There is entertainment on hand, spooky music and all the kids (and some of the parents) come decked out in their costumes.

Holiday Party
In a room filled with holiday music, decorations and crafts, let your kids get into the holiday spirit and create some wonderful decorations for your home. You won’t believe the graham cracker houses these kids can build! A visit from Santa makes this event complete.

Easter Egg Hunt
Gather at the library playground where the Easter Bunny’s helpers hide eggs galore all over the playground for even our littlest members to seek out. Every child is guaranteed to enjoy the toy and candy treats hidden for them!

Playgroups
Playgroups offer a wonderful way to meet other families and for your children to make friends. Groups meet at rotating members’ homes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Helping Hands
Our volunteers provide meals (home cooked or otherwise) to families with babies or in a time of need.

Babysitter Information
Oh the hurdles of moving!! Some of you may have moved to town, managed to get the kids settled at school, found cleaners, hairdressers and doctors, however...are you wondering "Where are all the babysitters?!"

Here are a few tips that may help: try calling the Magic Dragon Pre-School and Day Care for a referral list at 781-934-7671. Check the bulletin board at the Conservatory for listings. And don't forget to check with your neighbors and friends, as they may have older children interested in sitting.
